Walking weird. Today‘s tangle is brought to you by the letter “W”, for “weird”. The random tangles for this tile were a really eclectic mixture of wild, crazy, and fun. I actually love Caviar and Nekton. Even though I didn‘t think these would all work together, it turned out OK in the end. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum using a black Micron pen. Neuron was recently featured as the challenge tangle on a couple of Facebook groups. I didn‘t do this right away, because I wanted to think about how to use the tangle as a string, as I did here. I also wanted to experiment with a few red accents, and I thought the triangles that appear in this design were perfect. I felt the center needed something contrasting, so I chose Nzeppel. Finally, I specifically chose the tangles to go into the other filled spaces so that there were a lot of close line work. It‘s kind of unusual for me to select specific tangles and here, I feel like everything worked very well.
Woosh! That‘s what comes to mind when I look at this Zentangle. It‘s a simple string and a reasonable amount of tangles, but the movement is strong because of the pointed area and strong Strircles tangle. Maui. This is the second day of the Moana movie‘s influence on my daily tile. This time, I used a few of the symbols from the movie directly, namely Maui‘s fish hook and the shell from Moana‘s necklace, represented by a mother of pearl Zen Gem. Unfortunately, the stone just didn‘t scan well. It is actually stunning. I used Pearl-X on top of the colored pencil and it came out fabulous!
