Growth. At the center of it all, there has been a seed planted. And now the growth begins. The living towers still stood, although the lace dress and pearls were sold long ago. But the new growth was hope, renewed. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Twisted Ropes. This is my first attempt at trying the twisted rope techniques introduced by Eni Oken . I had a small problem with my pink pen… it started puddling and making inconsistent lines shortly after I stared. I decided to carry on with it anyway because I didn‘t want to start my tile over again. It turns out that, IMHO, the blooping pen actually added to the designs. Meandering. Several of the tangles in this tile decided to meander around and about on thier own, creating some interesting interactions! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum using a black Micron pen. Tangles: Berries & Leaves Bumper Crazy Huggins Jay Six Pais

It doesn‘t happen very often, but once in a while I create a tile I don‘t like. This is one of those. I feel like I should have just skipped the Henna Drum design below the Voxter medallion. And, for that matter, the medallion is almost centered, which also bothers me. I finished it anyway, and it‘s in my book, but it‘s definitely not a favorite.
