I don’t draw this tangle often enough! I picked it for this 3Z because I woke up thinking about it in the morning. So, I took that as a sign to create this tile. Fishing. We cast our net into the sea, searching for Ix to sell in the market. As we hauled the nets abord, we discovered a treasure trapped within. The Marasu was worth more than everything else in our nets, combined! This one, being so large, was probably worth even more than our ship! Ships. As she looked back at the gate, she saw the others had followed her into this new dimension. She wasn’t sure if they were friends or enemies, but it didn’t matter at this point. They were all here, now, and there was no going back. I decided to try a couple more radial blossoms and continue the story from the first one, here . I also used reticula patterns in-between the arms of the lower, Ix blossom. I started with E15 from the Zentangle Primer and just expanded on it.
Intensity. This almost looks like something you might see looking in a microscope. Although this Zentangle is very simple with only two tangles, it is also very complex with all of the layering that is happening. It took a while to do, but it was a lot of fun! I ended up breaking the rule I set for myself (white paper, black pen, graphite pencil) by adding the lighter grey Printemps in the background. I didn‘t want the Ix bars to get lost into the background, so the higher contrast was needed. The blue appearing spirals are there because I picked up the wrong pen, and drew one… then I added more to make it look like it was deliberate.
