I am an enabler, LOL! Since I started Tuna, I’ve hooked another sewist, Laurie L.! She is doing a Koala and Mila sew along with me!
She chose the Gabriela & Friends pattern.
She had these fabrics, which she is using for her inspiration. Because of that, she decided to name her llama, Beetrice and she is a bee keeper! Isn’t that an adorable idea?
The face is all cut out, the eyes chosen and the ear lining prepared!
The pattern calls for using yarn for the hair. After we discussed it, Laurie decided to use fleece, instead. I like it better because it has more body and will wear better than the yarn!
This is a face a Mama Llama just has to love! Everything is stitched and ready to sew together!
Isn’t this just the perfect choice for the ear stud? Nothing like a bee in the flower garden!
Laurie and I have the exact same sewing machine. While I chose to stamp and draw out my name tag, she used the machine’s built-in embroidered letters to create hers. I think it looks really good!
This is so cute! The body is sewn together.
Stitching the limbs.
“Beetrice is a budding beekeeper who has started her flower garden. She is currently looking for a hive to call her very own!”
–Laurie L.
And here she is! I love her little flower belly button!
And here’s a close up of her tag!
Laurie and I live far apart. But it is such a blessing to have someone to sew along with. We exchange notes, suggestions and progress pics every day. We’re having so much fun that we’re not as obsessed with what’s going on in the world while staying safe, at home!
