Angled. This tile is all about the angles. The string is made up of straight lines set at various angles. The tangles also provide tension due to the placement against the string and each other. The occasional curves help to balance out the rigidity of the lines by providing some softness. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Purked up. I had some problems with the Zentangle I posted last Friday. So, for the next week, I‘m dropping into tangling that is much more basic. I‘ll stick to white tiles, black in, and graphite pencil for the shading. So here, Purk was one of the random tangles that came out of the jar. I decided that I woud draw two of them in the center of the tile, and then fill in the rest of the string with random tangles.

Echoes. Even though they aren‘t exact, I feel like the three center elements kind of echo each other. I like the effect they created all together. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Tangles: Fengle Nipa Kathy‘s Dilemma Opus Scena Snail Squill Vermal

It‘s complicated. When I‘m stressed, taking time to tangle becomes even more important. It allows me to decompress and step away from the chaos. However, my tile often reflects what‘s going on around me. This tile is a case in point. I‘m not feeling good, and there is a lot of “stuff” going on that has me not following my “normal” routine. Relaxation. When I hold out this tile and squint at it, I get the feeling of a daybed, or the corner of a couch in an atrium. It feels like I could snuggle against the pillows with a good book or a sketch pad! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Everything is new. Every tangle on this tile is new for me, the first time I‘ve drawn it. I started out with a vague concept of doing a Steampunk-themed tile, but then just kinda did random new tangles. Parts of it I like, and parts I don‘t.
