Something fishy. This tile didn‘t start out to be an underwater scene. I was trying to decide which tangle to put in the space where the “eye” is. In the process of rotating the tile around and thinking, I realized it looked a bit like an underwater scene and the Shattuck reminded me of scales. So I added the “eye” (which is now a tangle called Caviar!) and the Fescu to look a bit like a fin.

Movement. I love the way the string used in this tangle conveys movement while the Marasu anchors the viewer. It‘s as if the other patterns in the tile are flowing around the spiral design. Meditation. I didn‘t want to do anything complicated, or that took a lot of thinking when I created this Zentangle. I just wanted to zone out and draw. The simple patterns are great for meditative tangling. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum tile using a black, Micron pen. Tangles: Cadent Insydout Kule Munchin

It‘s a star. The string in this tangle started out as a star and then warped into what you see here after the random tangles were chosen. Tomorrow is St. Patrick‘s Day. So, even though it‘s a day early, I‘m using this tile, which looks like a basket of shamrocks! Zentangle drawn on Official Zentangle tile using a black, Micron pen. Tangles: Fescu Keeko Munchin Sh-Rock Twing W-2

Spiders. Everytime I see this, I think there is a spider lurking about, waiting for her eggs to hatch. Zentangle drawn on Official Zentangle tile using a black, Micron pen. Tangles: Aah Afterglow Black Box Black-eyed Peas Centipede Hibred Huggins Munchin Poke-Root

Avocado. I don‘t remember what I was thinking when I tangled this tile. I know that what is on here is a result of randomly selecting tangles, so I‘m going to call the upper center Lava Juice, and I‘m guessing it started with that, and then just did it‘s own thing. Sometimes, a drawing takes on a bizarre life of it‘s own. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen.

I think I‘ll stay away from black tiles. Every so often, I think I can do something cool with a black tile. And every so often, I‘m disappointed. I know that I can do better work than this. It just didn‘t real work on any level. Zentangle drawn on black card stock using Sakura gel pen. Tangles: Bricks Fengle Jetties Knopen Munchin Pepper Ennies

Even though I made a weird mistake in the Eyewa, and “fixed” it by making it a “eye”, this is still one of my favorite Zentangles. I love the blank area in the middle, and so many people have told me various things it reminds them of! What do YOU see? The tangle below Munchin is a variation of Chevron.
