Spiral. I tried to create a string that would give the feeling of spiraling around. It ended up looking like those Purks are on a wild ride. Which way? Here, after drawing the string, I‘ve used ribbon tangles to define spaces that are filled with other tangles. For me, this is a simple way of creating a Zentangle from randomly chosen designs. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Blue. I decided to experiment with a blue pen for this tile. I also shaded part of it with a blue colored pencil… after I did the Cirquital with a regular pencil and realized it looked a bit odd. Divided. The string used for this tile had multiple spaces that allowed for quite a few tangles. I tried to place the random patterns in an interesting way. But looking at it all these years later, it feels like this one needs some stronger contrasts. It‘s a bit too even. Zentangle drawn on Official Zentangle tile using a black, Micron pen. Hungry? To me, it looks like the Bumper area is a mouth, getting ready to eat the Bronx Cheer. It makes me hungry! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black Micron pen. Tangles: Bronx Cheer Bumper Cubine Dex Dribbetz Kule Vega Xircus

Simple. I wanted just a simple string for this tile so I could concentrate on the tangles. However, two of the patterns were medallions, but they turned out not to be a problem. I just added one to the central area, and repeated the other three time. It works! Zentangle drawn on Strahtmore Vellum Bristol using a black Micron pen. Odd frequencies. To me, this tile looked like a radio tower sending out programs across the countryside. It wasn‘t intentional, it just ended up like this. Eke is shown with variations in this Zentangle. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Tangles: Bales Dex Eke Hibred Lightning Bolt

Hide-n-seek. So, I drew the Marbaix tangle from the random jar two days in a row! I also got another “new” tangle: B‘Dylan, which I like a lot. This time, I hid part of the Marbaix medallion under another section, and I think it works better here. It adds contrast, but doesn‘t entirely take over the tile.
